Please extend our sympathy to Wally's family,Rev.Henry Heaps & Mrs Heaps. Our thoughts go back many years as we were members in Rev. Heap's Church in Dunellen. The few times we were in Wally's company, it was such a pleasure and a very dear person, is now resting.

Wallace will remain a part of my childhood memories because our families were so close and we considered the Heaps boys our brothers. I remember when I was in 2nd grade and Wallace was in 1st grade, I guess, because, though I was a grade older than he, we were in the same class and it was a combined 1st/2nd grade class. It was his birthday and his mother was bringing cupcakes to school after recess. I knew about it but it was a surprise to the other students. We were lining up for recess and the other kids were noisy. Wallace blurted out, "Be quiet or we won't be able to have the party!" Then he realized he had "spilled the beans" and he put his hand over his mouth.
Another memory was when I was home from college one summer, not having seen any of the boys in years. Suddenly Wallace was driving up our driveway. It was so great to see him. We were college students, grown-ups!! He was on his way to Princeton to fill a prescription or something and he wanted to know if I wanted to take a ride with him. So I did. That was almost the last time I remember seeing him, until the Kingston Pres. Church's birthday celebration several year ago. We were middle-aged by then! But Wallace was sure proud of his wife and his son. I wish I could have known him better and seen him more often as we got older. But my childhood memories aren't complete without thinking of him and his brothers. He was a fun kid and a good man. We will meet again! My condolences to the whole family. We feel your loss.

I was so sorry to see the news of Wally's passing in the Hunterdon Democrat. I have fond memories of the family arriving in Dunellen when Wally's father, Henry became our Pastor. My heart goes out to his parents, Henry and Mary Harry, his brothers as I know what it is to lose a sibling early, and to his wife and child. Blessings Ruth
