Obituary of Thomas Martin Rush
Thomas M. Rush, age 70, passed peacefully at his home on Tuesday, January 21, 2020. Thomas was born August 22, 1949 in Houlton, Maine. He is the son of the late Carroll and the late Mary (Wall) Rush. His beloved wife and love of his life Marlene Noble Rush predeceased him on May 30, 2018.
Born in Maine, Tom resided in Clifton, NJ where he met his wife Marlene while attending Clifton High School together before settling his family in Union Township NJ, in 1983. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard, was an avid hunter and master craftsman. Tom provided for his family doing what he loved as a self-employed carpenter, wood- worker and general handyman for over 40 years and was always ready to lend a helping hand to his children, siblings and other family and friends. He was a diehard Yankees fan and loved spending time in Maine hunting and fishing and being with family and friends. He was a proud, loving grandfather to his 7 grandchildren.
Tom is survived by his loving children, Kelly Paridy, her husband, Jonathan and their children, Luke and Finn; Stacey Morgan, her husband, Rich, and their children, Lucy and Phoebe, Matthew Rush, his wife, Andrea, and their children, Cameron, Jolene, and Levi; sisters Margaret Poirier and her spouse Dave Brancato; Anne Phillips and her husband Robert; brothers Stephen Rush and his wife Dawn and Michael Rush and his wife Anna; and his niece and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Jeremy.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather with the family on Thursday January 30th from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm and again from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Martin Funeral Home, 1761 Route 31, Clinton NJ 08809. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday January 31st at the Clinton United Methodist Church, 12 Halstead Street, Clinton, NJ. Interment will follow at the Lackawaxen and Union Cemetery in Lackawaxen PA.
