My deepest sympathy to George's family. I know you will miss him dearly. My husband, Pete, worked with George at American Cyanimid. George became a dear friend to our family. He shared in all my family celebrations and our sorrows. George was always there for us. It has been our privilege to have known George. He was a kind and gentle man,and he was a gentleman. I remember George as far back as my memory allows. George knew my family for 66 years, ("Adrienne +2yrs>")He was a quiet but sincere fixture in the city, as well as, at our home at the shore always paling with John and Charles. George was great at debating! He could also liven up any situation with his sense of humor. George will be missed!

This past week has been a sad one for our family; we are still trying to accept the fact that our brother and Uncle George is truly gone. But on behalf of my parents and brothers, I would like to say what a great comfort it has been reading and hearing from those who were close to him, understanding just how much he meant to their lives. We have heard stories of many of you over the years, but it is so nice to be reminded of the larger family he shared.
We look forward to seeing and sharing memories with you at his memorial service later this month.

George became our friend through our neighbors the Gnassi family. We always looked forward to his East Brunswick and Loch Arbor visits. We had wonderful conversations perhaps about WW11 or our mutual vacation destination Duck, NC but mostly about the beloved Max. Max waundered into our yard one cold winter day. He wanted a home. We knew just the person to give him that home. But George was reluctant. However he agreed to meet the cat who had moved into our garage. The sight was one I'll never forget. Max took one look at George and leapt into his arms. It was love at first sight and what a good judge of character Max was! He certainly was pampered for the rest of his life. We miss George and send our sympathy to the Hebeler family.
Sincerely,
John and Susan Brower

George was a good and great , friend of mine.As a youngster he was like an older brother to me. Greaoge was with Barbara and me though many seasons of our lives. He was there on happy days, sad days ,holidays and graduations of our children. George enjoyed company, had verbal curiosity about life, food and good drink.I remenber going with George to a graduation;we had an early morning breakfast, cocktails at the airport with much conversataion about everything.Upon arrival in Burlington ,Vermoont we continued and had a good time talking, dinning and having a drink with my daughter.at a good resturant. We shared much.George was always there for us. He was a man with a creative ability to think through problems of life or relativityy theory with equal facility. George was a warm friendly man who was verballyy conversnat with sports to philosophhical theory;he was at home in most areas of knowledge. He lived his life in his chosen way, where he gave much to many. We miss him. He was a real and great part of our lives---------Charles and Barbara

Uncle George was my beloved uncle. Although we shared no ancestry, he was the best uncle any girl could have asked for. Uncle George was there for all my milestones, only missing them when he was very ill. On my 16th birthday, Uncle George made me feel like such a young lady when he brought me my 1st box of chocolates. Graduations, birthdays, weddings & funerals, he was there. He enjoyed life and took in a great amount of detail and interest in the world around him. He would hold my son Andrew in his lap - a beer in Uncle George's hand and a bottle in Andrew's. Morphic fields fascinated him, good food and drank called to him, stories with fine description poured out of him, and his cats adored him. I adored him. I will miss him in my life. No other man ever deserved to be called a Beloved Uncle more than my Uncle George.

Our thoughts and prayers to your family John. We will really miss George. From drinking shots with the guys during Super Bowl, holiday gatherings, and just plain old family get togethers George had become a member of our family too. He was a humble and intelligent man whose stories could carry a conversation on forever.Easter dinner was just not the same this year...
