Cousin Hugh and family, I am sorry to learn of your loss. It is very sad news. Janice called to let me know. Words can't make you all feel any better but the Farley family is always in my heart despite the miles and I mean that sincerely. God bless all of you always. She is in our prayers.

I am a former student of Mrs Farley. I have so many cherished memories of 5th grade with her and how she made everyday special and fun in her own way. I will never forget her and everything that she taught me. She forever has a place in my heart.

What can I say about such a fun loving Wife, Mother, Sister, Grandmother and Aunt – just to mention a few of Geri Farley’s titles.
As an Aunt of mine she was priceless. My memories go back to the many times I was able to visit her home and play with my cousins. A place to always feel welcome and have fun - - she always made you feel special – but that’s just how she was.
Having been a teacher for many years she had such a heart for children and knew just how to handle them – from handling 4 of her own to the children she taught and then her grandchildren which I know were so so special to her. She even made up a little book for my middle son to help him with his phonics when he was first learning to read. Always a person that kids loved being around- but that’s just how she was.
My mind goes to scripture as I think of her many attributes and it brings me to
Proverbs 31:10 :
Who can find a virtuous wife
For her worth is above rubies
The heart of her husband safely trusts her
So he will have no lack of gain
She does him good and not evil
all the days of her life………..but that’s just how she was.
Again – I search God’s word for more solace and comfort during this shocking tragedy and it brings me to yet another way my Aunt lived her life in Matthew 19:19 where it says: Love your neighbor as yourself – this is what Aunt Geri put into practice regularly……….but that’s just how she was.
We can never understand why some things happen the way they do for God’s ways are not our ways – it seems he called her home too soon. There are some words of comfort and many days of sadness ahead – but all who knew her know that she would not want anyone to weep for it hurt her to see her loved ones hurt….but that’s just how she was.
Cast your burdens on the Lord and he shall sustain you. Psalm 55:22
Love,
Leah
