Obituary of Elizabeth G. Kelly

Elizabeth G. Kelly, age 88, of Clinton, NJ died peacefully, Wednesday, July 26, 2006 in her home. Mrs. Kelly was born December 4, 1917 in Jersey City, NJ the daughter of the late Thomas and the late Florence (nee Brignadello) Golden. A Graduate of St. Dominic High School in Jersey City, NJ, she also graduated from Jersey City Teachers College where she founded the Fencing Team and later was inducted into its Hall Of Fame. Mrs. Kelly worked as a Special Education Teacher at Glen Ridge High School in Glen Ridge, NJ. She resided in Clinton, NJ for the past 14 years and previous to that, she lived in Bloomfield, NJ for 43 years. Elizabeth was a devout Catholic and an active Parishioner at Immaculate Conception Church in Annandale, NJ. In addition, she was a Member of the Friendship Club of Immaculate Conception Church, an enthusiastic Member of the Friends of the Red Mill Museum in Clinton, NJ, a Member of the Union Township Senior Citizen Group and the Glen Ridge Country Club. She was an artist and most of all, Mrs. Kelly loved spending time with her family at the beach. She is survived by; her Daughters: Mary Elizabeth Yates & husband, Don of Normandy Beach, NJ, Patricia Marra & husband, Allen of Bay Head, NJ, Valerie Shlimbaum & husband, Terry of Lebanon Township, NJ, her Sister, Doris Burke of Red Bank, NJ, her Grandchildren; Chris Yates, Betsy Schwartz, Jeremiah & Sam Delaney, & Charlie & Gus Shlimbaum and 5 Great-Grandchildren. She was predeceased by her beloved Husband, Vincent Paul Kelly in 1998. Visiting hours will be Friday, July 28th from 2:00 to 4:00 pm & from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at Martin Funeral Home, 1761 Route 31, Clinton, NJ. There will be a Funeral Mass on Saturday, July 29th at 10:00 at Immaculate Conception RC Church, 316 Old Allerton Road, Annandale, New Jersey 08801 www. icc-clintonnj.org The internment will be held privately and at the convenience of the family. Memorials in her memory may be made to the Red Mill Museum, 56 Main Street, Clinton, NJ 08809.
