Obituary of Siegfried “Zeke” Gansfuss
Siegfried Zeke Gansfuss, age 77, of Sidney section of Pittstown died Monday, November 28, 2005 at Howard County General Hospital, Columbia, Maryland.
Mr. Gansfuss was born September 17, 1928, the son of the late Ambrose and the late Theresa (Bauman) Gansfuss. He served in the US Army and was a MP stationed at Fort Dix and Watertown during the Korean War.
Mr. Gansfuss was an Insurance Agent. He worked for Agway Insurance in Flemington from 1974-1984. In 1984, he established Gansfuss Insurance Agency in Clinton which he owned and operated. From 1940-1980, Zeke and his family co-owned and operated the Chicken Coop Tavern on Sidney Rd. in Sidney (sect. of Pittstown).
He graduated from Clinton High School where he was an ALL STAR athlete in Baseball, basketball and soccer in the 1940s.
He was a Member of the Guinea Hollow Gun Club in Quakertown, and was a member of the Hunterdon Sailing Club. He played on the Chicken Coop Softball team. He was avid dog show enthusiast and he raced sail boats.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years: Evelyn (Hintersteiner) Gansfuss and two sons: David Gansfuss and his Wife Jane of Skillman, NJ, Ronald Gansfuss and His Wife Stacy of Readington Twp., NJ ; Four Granchildren: Brian, Michael, Kelly and Christopher
He is also survived by his Brother: Eugene
Calling hours will be Friday from 3:00PM - 6:00PM at Martin Funeral Home, 1761 Route 31, Clinton, NJ. There will be a Catholic Blessing be Friday at 6:00 at the Funeral Home following the visitaion. Burial will be private.
