Obituary of Harry L. Yourth
Harry L. Yourth, age 88 of Bethlehem Twp. died Saturday, July 30th at home. Mr. Yourth was born September 7, 1916 in Newark, NJ the son of the late Harry and the late Helen (nee Smith) Yourth. He married his beloved Wife, Marianne 65 years ago.
He was employed by the Maplewood Fire Department in Maplewood, NJ and served as Chief before retiring in 1977. After retiring from the Maplewood Fire Department, he became a Part-Time Arson Investigator for the State Of New Jersey and also worked for the H&S Insurance Company as an Insurance Investigator.
Harry was a member of the NJ State Industrial Safety Committee, the International Association of Arson Investigators, the Hampton Volunteer Fire Department (Hampton, NJ), the Fire Prevention Bureau of Hampton and he was a longtime member of the Maple Lodge Masons (Maplewood, NJ) where he achieved 32nd Degree status and served as past Exalted Ruler. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy and Served during WWII as a Machinists Mate Second Class and later he served at the Navy Shipyard in Kearney, NJ
He is survived by his Wife of 65 years: Marianne Yourth, two Daughters: Martha Yourth of Selkirk, NY & Lynda Yourth of Reno, Nevada and his Son: Ronald Yourth of Lebanon Township, NJ. Mr. Yourth is also survived by his 3 Grandchildren.
The Visitation will take place Thursday, August 4th from 2:00 to 4:00 pm & from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at Martin Funeral Home, 1761 Route 31, Clinton, NJ. There will be a Firemans Prayer Service Thursday evening, August 4th also at the Funeral Home. All other services are private and at the convenience of the family.
