Obituary of Doris May Riddle

Doris May Riddle, age 81, Hampton died Saturday, March 18, 2006 at Morristown Memorial Hospital, Morristown. Mrs. Riddle was born November 15, 1924 in Sussex, NJ . She was the daughter of the late Charles Draper and the late Hazel (Bailey) Draper. Doris was a beloved mother and grandmother. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren. She was an avid reader who loved to sing and dance. She also liked to travel and cook. While living in Hampton over the years, she was very active and involved in the community. At one time, she was an active member of St. Anns Church in Hampton. She was also a member of its Rosary Society. Mrs. Riddle was primarily a Homemaker. In earlier years, she worked as a secretary for Herald Nichols Hardware in Sussex and was a clerk for the Hampton Water Department. She also helped run her husbands business- Riddles Dairy in Hampton, where she was also the business's bookkeeper. Pre-deceased by her husband Gilbert in 1975 and her sister Ruth Loesch in 2006, She is survived by her Loving children: Charles H. Riddle and his Wife Sharon of Annandale, Gilbert V. Riddle Jr. and his Wife Hermine of Greenville, NC and Doris Ann Barbiche-Thorsen and her Husband Robert of Ringoes. Her 9 beloved Granchildren: Brian, Matthew, Stephen, Michelle, Diane, Holli, Brooke, Jennelle, and J.T.; and 13 dear great grandchildren She also is survived by her sister Gloria Card of Sussex, NJ and her dear life-long friend Connie Davren of Glen Gardner, NJ. Visitng hours will be Wednesday from 10:00 am to 12:00pm at Martin Funeral Home, 1761 Route 31, Clinton, NJ. The funeral will be Wednesday at 12:30 pm at St. Ann's RC Church, 6 Church Street, Hampton where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Hampton.
