Obituary of Penny Hershey Gagne
Penny Hershey Gagne, age 69, of Lebanon Township, NJ died Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at home. Mrs. Gagne was born March 8, 1943 in Manhattan, NY. She was the daughter of the late Don and Rita (nee Meyerson) Hershey, of NYC and Lebanon Township, NJ.
Penny graduated from the Bronx High School of Science, NYC, attended American International College in Springfield, Mass., where she met her husband Ed; received her 1964 B.A from Hunter College, NYC, and received her Certification for CSR from Academy of Stenographic Arts, San Francisco, CA.
Penny resided with husband Ed in Lebanon Twp., NJ, for the past 32 years; previous to that she lived in Berkeley, CA and New York City. Penny was a freelance Certified Shorthand Reporter and worked in California and throughout New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York State. Penny has also, for the last twenty years, been a fabulous Ceramic Artist showing her work in the Hunterdon County Cultural and Heritage Commission Invitational Exhibition, Hunterdon Art Museum, Art Gallery at Raritan Valley Community College, NJ Artists Guild, Somerset Arts Association, Montgomery Center for the Arts, and Gallery 31.
Penny was a volunteer and supporter of the Hunterdon Art Museum, Clinton, NJ and the Hospice Healthcare unit of Hunterdon Medical Center. She also enjoyed gardening and the peace & serenity of her home and farm in Lebanon Twp., NJ.
She is survived by; her beloved husband of 46 years, Ed Gagne, her sister, Nona Hershey of Somerville, Ma., several cousins and many loving friends.
