Obituary of Gail Marie Coe
Gail Marie Coe, age 62, of Bethlehem Twp., NJ died Friday, March 16, 2012 at home surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Coe was born December 28, 1949 in East Orange, NJ. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and the late Theresa (Solinski) Bierherr. She completed a Bachelors degree at Kean University and a Masters in Education at Rutgers University. Gail was a longtime resident of Bethlehem Twp., NJ.
Gail was an Elementary School Teacher and worked nine years at Jefferson School in Maplewood, NJ, three years at Jugtown Mountain Nursery School, and nineteen years at Conley Elementary School in Bethlehem Twp., NJ. She retired in 2008 after many years as a Kindergarten teacher. Gail loved children and with the help of her students she collected giraffes of all shapes and sizes. Gail enjoyed traveling with family and friends, including several recent trips to Europe with her husband, but was most at peace sitting on the Jersey shore at sunset with a good book.
Gail was a member & past president of the Tri-County Reading Council, a member of the Bethlehem Twp. PTA, and recipient of Bethlehem Township's Teacher of the Year Award. She originated the Kindergarten Orientation program at Conley School and formed the Moms and Tots group for preschoolers in Bethlehem Township. Over the years she contributed her time and talents leading Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, and many other community activities. She was a member of the North Hunterdon Junior Women's Club and a Volunteer Greeter at Hunterdon Medical Center. Gail was also a parishioner of St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church in Hampton, NJ for over thirty years.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 34 years, James Coe; her children, James Jr., and wife Erica, Kevin, and Megan; and her sister, Linda Bierherr.
The Visitation will take place on Sunday, March 18th from 4:00 to 7:00 pm and Monday, March 19th from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at Martin Funeral Home, 1761 Route 31, Clinton, NJ. There will be a Funeral Mass on Tuesday, March 20th at 10:00 am at St. Ann's RC Church, 30 Main Street (aka 6 Church St.), Hampton, NJ. Family and friends are invited to meet directly at the church on Tuesday morning. The Interment will follow at St. Ann's Cemetery located on the church grounds.
